This privacy policy explains how rippll treats personal information within the rippll
system. Personal information is information about you that is personally identifiable
like your name, address, email address, or phone number.
When signing up for the rippll service we ask you personal information such as name,
home city, date of birth, gender, e-mail address etc. Also if you choose to link
your rippll account to other social networks such as Facebook we will ask for user
names and passwords for these. rippll does not distribute this personal data to
third parties except for specific situations where we will highlight exactly what
data we are sharing. This may be the case for 'nearby offers' where we may need
to share your name and email address to register you for '2 for 1' deals at nearby
restaurants for example.
rippll automatically records non-identifiable browser data in order to optimise
the user experience of the rippll service. None of this data can be used to identify
you specifically although we will link this data to you rippll profile so that your
experience of rippll is consistent every time you login. rippll does not track your
location unless you explicitly submit it by posting your location from the rippll web site
or enabling the rippll GPS service.
rippll uses two types of cookie to maintain your user experience. A cookie is a
small data file stored on your computer's hard drive which tells the rippll server
who you are. rippll uses a 'persistent cookie' to store a unique identifier, so
you don't have to log in every time you access the service. rippll also uses a 'session
cookie' that only exists until you finish your browsing session, these cookies are
used to store your data as you move through your rippll session but are never accessed
by anyone else.
The account data rippll stores about you includes:
* Profile (sign-up data and photo)
* Calendar data - events you have posted
* Current and past locations visited - these include the address, time, date and
photos where applicable
You can change or delete any of this information at any time in the My Profile section.
Depending on your account settings your friends and other rippll users may be able
to see all or any of this data. To hide this data from others please visit the 'Privacy
settings' and make the changes suggested there.
Where appropriate we may send you communications relating to the rippll service,
such as new features. You will also recieve notification alerts of any account activity
deemed important such as friend requests or new messages. You can change these alerts
in your 'My Profile' section. You can delete your rippll profile at any time from
your profile page or by emailing admin@rippll.com; however, please note that some
data bound to your account (such as messages sent to other users) may remain in
the rippll system for some time. Your rippll account information is password-protected.
rippll may update this policy at any time for any reason.
